HEALTHY EATING TIPS FROM CARA TOMCHEK RN

Reading labels is essential.  Avoid all foods that contain high fructose corn syrup, trans fats and too many chemicals.  Our bodies are designed to heal and protect themselves naturally through the food we eat -not through artificial chemicals.  If we keep our food simple and natural and whole, our bodies will stay healthy naturally.

Cara recommends the books Super Foods RX by Steven Pratt MD and Ultra Metabolism  Some of the super foods include beans, blueberries, broccoli, spinach, oats, oranges, tea, tomatoes and yogurt.  The Super Foods book even tells you where you can purchase the foods and how to use them simply.

Some of the best news is that chili and peanut butter are great foods.  I think those are two that most kids like and are inexpensive.

You might also want to check out the September, 2007, issue of Women's health magazine.  They feature an article 100 Best Packaged Foods for Women.  The foods are chosen on the basis of promoting weight loss, building bone and muscle and preventing cancer and heart disease.

If you would like to discuss your particular nutrition concerns with Cara, she is always open to help others eat better.  Contact me and I will put you in touch with Cara.
